Background & Scope of Work

The Manocha’s had initially engaged one of the top home decor firms for their residence, but due to mismanagement and confusion, the project was left incomplete. At this point, they reached out to us to take over the design and execution, ensuring a seamless transformation of their space. Since some woodwork and bedroom furniture were already in place, our role was to refine and complete the interiors, enhancing the functionality and aesthetics of the space.

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Living Area (Modern Eclectic Luxury)
  • PlayStation Area
  • Balcony & Joyner
  • Two Bedrooms
  • Rear-side Balcony Transformation into a functional utility area (washing machine, dryer, ironing, storage, shoe rack space)

Understanding the Client’s Vision

During our initial discussions, the Manochas were incredibly trusting and open to our creative vision. Their only request was to design a posh living space with bright colors while ensuring optimal functionality.

Design Concept & Execution

Living Room – Modern Eclectic Luxury

A bold yet sophisticated aesthetic was created with a mix of rich textures, vibrant colors, and statement pieces. Since the placement of the house allowed a direct view from a neighbouring house, we incorporated a louvered screen on the balcony to ensure privacy without compromising aesthetics.

Bedrooms:

Bedroom 1 – A Functional Haven
  • Limited space: Optimized layout to fit all essentials without feeling cramped.
  • Workstation Challenge: Designed a compact yet efficient work-from-home setup.
  • Mirror Seating Area: Added to enhance space perception.
  • Lighting: Maximized natural sunlight for an airy feel.
  • Theme: Luxury with subtle, neutral tones for a serene ambiance.
Bedroom 2 – Radiant and Spacious
  • Bright and vibrant colors for a lively and uplifting atmosphere.
  • Ensured ample open space to prevent the room from feeling cluttered.

Balcony & Sit-Out Area

The family loved open spaces, so we designed a classy yet elegant sit-out, ensuring it wasn’t overly busy but still welcoming. The addition of a louvered screen in the balcony not only provided privacy but also elevated the overall aesthetic.

Challenges Faced & Solutions

  • Accommodating multiple functions in a compact space: Strategic space planning and multi-functional furniture ensured a clutter-free yet practical design.
  • Balancing openness with privacy: The louvered screen solution maintained privacy without restricting natural light.

Key Takeaways from the Project

  • Ordering all furniture from a single vendor can be risky—diversifying sources ensures better quality control and flexibility.
  • Space optimization is key in smaller homes—clever storage solutions and multi-functional designs make a big difference.
  • Privacy can be achieved without compromising design aesthetics—smart structural elements like screens can enhance both form and function.

Final Thoughts

This project was a testament to how smart design solutions can transform a previously stalled project into a luxurious, functional home. The Manochas now have a stylish yet comfortable space that reflects their personality and lifestyle.
